The TON Foundation has announced a partnership with Cocos Studio, poised to transform the Web3 mini-games landscape. This merges Cocos Studio’s advanced game development tools with TON’s expansive blockchain ecosystem, heralding a new era in digital entertainment.
Starting today, Cocos SDK will integrate seamlessly with the TON Blockchain, allowing Web2 mini-app developers to harness the power of dApps. This move comes as TON’s ecosystem experiences meteoric growth, with its Total Value Locked (TVL) surpassing $750 million by the end of July 2024.
The blockchain’s growing success is reflected in the popularity of mini-apps like Notcoin, which has attracted over 30 million users, and Hamster Kombat, celebrating 300 million users.
The partnership will empower developers to create monetizable dApps that can leverage Telegram’s vast user base of 950 million monthly active users.
“Partnering with TON is a monumental step in advancing Web3 game development,” said Luna, CMO of Cocos Studio. “Our shared values and goals with TON—to serve developers, achieve mass adoption, and elevate the industry—will set new standards and open vast opportunities for developers globally.”
Inal Kardan, Gaming Lead at TON Foundation, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “The future of gaming is on-chain, focusing on creating value rather than just extracting it. Our collaboration with Cocos Studio will bring tens of thousands of Web2 mini-game developers to Web3, enabling them to reach a massive, engaged audience via Telegram’s Mini App platform.”
